Too Faced Born This Way Foundation| Swatches of new FAIR shades! Just Released Summer 2017
July 15, 2017This past month, Too Faced expanded their shade range of the Born This Way Foundation to accommodate for more skin tones both fair and tan/deep. Today we are taking a closer look at the 2 "fairest" shades added to the range, and I will be showing you swatches and comparisons to 4 other shades HERE.
I purchased the 2 newest fair shades Swan and Almond.
Here are shade names and descriptions taken straight from the Too Faced website
Swan- "fairest with neutral undertones"
Almond- "very fair with golden undertones"
Previous fair shades in the lineup:
Snow-"fairest with rosy undertones"
Ivory- "fairest with golden undertones"
Pearl-"very fair with rosy undertones"
Porcelain- "very fair with neutral undertones''
When the Born This Way foundation originally launched a few years back, the lightest shade available was Porcelain. Unfortunately, this shade was nowhere near fair and had a lot of people disappointed. Then, TooFaced released Snow and Pearl as two lighter shades and once again seemed to fall short for us pale princesses. Now in 2017, we have more options. Let's look at the swatches on both my arm in natural daylight and also on white paper (for undertone reference).
I have included a swatch of Maybelline Matte and Poreless in shade #110 as a comparison. That is one of the lightest foundations that I currently own, and also seems to suit other super fair ladies.
I really love the formula and coverage this foundation provided, but I was limited to choices that didn't look perfect. In the summer months, I can wear Porcelain and it looks lovely, however, in the fall/winter it looks way too dark on my skin. I had tried Pearl in the past, but that just looked really yellow and made me look a bit jaundice. Back to the store that went.
I recall watching and reading a lot of reviews and a common complaint was most shades had strong yellow undertones. I have to agree.
Are these shades an improvement to the fairest shade range?
Let's compare the 2 newest shades to Snow and Pearl in the photo below.
