Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation

Today I am testing out the new Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation.  Let's go through the product details and claims first.

retails for $48.00 US for 1 fl oz./30ml
Suitable for all skin types
20 shades
matte, weightless finish
medium-full coverage
15 hour wear
fragrance free
oil-free
transfer, sweat, humidity and water resistant.

These are some pretty promising claims, and I couldn't wait to try it.  I got the shade 1N2 Vanille and the description says its for fair to light with neutral undertones.  I appreciate the shade descriptions in order to help online shoppers choose their correct shade.

So how does it wear and look on the skin?

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation

There are only a few claims that hold true IMO. The Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation does feel weightless.  The finish is matte/semi-matte without feeling dry and is non-irritating on the      skin.

This foundation really fell short with the other claims.  First off,  they claim that it is medium-full coverage.  I have only been able to get it to a medium coverage.  I had a horrible time trying to build it up.  It would just become patchy and take away foundation when trying to add more coverage.

Then there is the claim that it is transfer resistant.  I have tried setting it with powder, and not setting it and no matter what I did this foundation rubbed off.

Finally the biggest claim and the biggest failure.  The name shouts "Ultra-Longwear!"  This foundation looks nice for the first couple of hours, but at the 4 hour mark it starts looking horrible on my skin.  It looks patchy, cake, breakups, gets very dewy/oily and settles in my fine lines.  I would not wear this to any event or occasion that was a full day.  Below are photos to show wear.

Unfortunately, this foundation is a major fail for me.  I wasn't blown away.  While I was testing this out, I kept thinking how much this reminded me of The Ordinary Coverage Foundation.  Can you tell the difference below?
The Ordinary Foundation vs Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion

Honestly, I enjoy the look and wear of The Ordinary Coverage Foundation over the Laura Mercier.  This just doesn't look that great on my skin.

What are your thoughts on the new Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation?
